Dear Postal Costumer:
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Last year the Gawerf Express Postal Service employees incurred in 6,432.5 chicken bites islandwide that caused our employees pain and suffering and agony and hurting and anguish and discomfort.

Chicken owners are responsible for their pet's actions. Chicken attacks are preventable through responsible pet ownership.

Reminder for chicken owners:

  •  Chicken owners can be held financially responsible for injury caused by their pet's actions.
Chicken Bite Prevention Quick Reference
  • When accepting mail or packages at your door, place your chicken in a separate room and close the door.
  • If a letter carrier feels threatened by a vicious chicken or if a chicken is running loose, the owner may be asked to pick up mail at Gawerf Express until the carrier is assured that the chicken has been restrained.
  • If your carrier feels threatened by your chicken, they are expected to maintain their safety and your mail delivery may be impacted accordingly.
  • It's against the law in most towns for chickens to go unleashed.
