What's in the Box?

After the strange fire at Jhon's house, inspectors Smith, Jones, and Smith Jones wanted to figure out what was actually in the box.
For this experiment, they went around neighborhoods asking for any suspicious looking boxes. Once they had accumulated about 10, they then went to their secret Lab.
There they slowly and carefully opened the boxes, and to their surprise, what they found in all of the boxes were...
Yes, the cute and fluffy things that go quack. But these ducks were just normal ducks, not Alapca related, the human ducks.
Once Gawerf found out about this, he said that these ducks are no threat.

"We should open up our doors and welcome these ducks."Now, all around Alapca-land, Alapcas are getting the ducks out of their boxes. But one question still remains.
"If the ducks are harmless, what caused the fire?"
